Halnaker Windmill & Boxgrove 4 Mile Walk
Meeting at Boxgrove Village Hall Car Park at 10.30am for a 10.45m start we will head over the fields towards Halnaker before making up way up the hill to walk around the Halnaker Windmill and relax and enjoy the stunning views from the top before making our way back down through the vineyard to the starting point.
This is a beautiful 6.5km (approx. 4 miles) walk taking in great views of the Coast and South Downs as well as the historical landmark, a Grade 2 Listed building. With plenty of yellowhammers to spot enroute as well as less common species of plants on the chalk grassland, you wont be disappointed on this trail.
There is no stiles on this route, just a couple of gates and dogs on leads are welcome to come along on this walk.
We will walk through some fields /farm land and you will have views toward the South Downs. Boots or wellies are highly recommended as this route can get quite muddy in places especially after rain. The route does have a little road walking in places so care is to be taken on these and 1 steep incline on the way up to the hill but other than this the route is flat.
