Never in a million years did I ever expect to be where I am now! 3 years on after major surgery in 2022 left me relearning to walk again, would I ever think I could be walking Ultra Marathons, walking and raising money for charities, setting up a walking group for others to join me walking around the SouthDowns National Park and writing my 1st book and planning my second!

As some one called my book : “A Powerful, Uplifting, Personal Journey of a Woman who overcomes life’s challenges with Walking’

My love for walking has grown year after year and the more I walk, the more I discover in my own personal development, my confidence and my ability to push myself further and achieve.

Sharing my love of walks through my social media videos and photos, my adventures and journeys for all to view has given me more ambition and drive to continue raising money for charities, taking on new challenges and sharing more with others who can’t always get out there to see themselves the views that are around us.

My book shares with you my journey, my adventures around The South Downs, and how walking helped me not only with my own health issues, but how it helped me grow stronger, dealing with my Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), my Raynaud’s Syndrome, the loss of both my grandparents throughout the journey of Dementia, not once but twice in its different forms.

Walking has been an absolute life changer and I invite you to discover my walks through my book, sit back and imagine you are walking with me as I take you through the woods, the marinas, up on to the South Downs, where you feel as if you are there with me, seeing what I see, smelling what I smell, enjoying the views and the mud, and the rain and the sunshine.

See how pushing yourself to unknown limits can develop you as a person, how you can achieve yourself wonderful things by simply putting one foot in front of the other, getting outside even when you really feel you cant do it. Let go, enjoy and come with me on my adventures, and maybe then you too can be inspired to get out there on your own adventure and discover what you have around you and feel the true benefits walking and being out in nature hold for you.

“Vicki has been such an inspiration to me with her walking. My children and I used to go on walks a lot but for the last few years we all use every excuse to not do it. Biggest excuse was the weather, seeing Vicki head out on her walks in all weathers made me realise that we’re missing out because it may rain. At the end of the day we have coats and wellies.
Going out for long walks together is really beneficial for us as a family, nature is incredible when you take the time to appreciate it. I myself can be very busy but going for a walk no matter what allows me to turn off the busy just for a moment. Seeing Vicki’s Facebook posts literally was the reason I made us all get on our shoes and get out, away from the tech and the million chores of the house.

We lost our love of exploring by accident but have now found it again and I have Vicki’s walking posts to thank for that! What I’ve taken from it is that there is always a reason to not go but how we feel during and after that walk trumps anything.” AA Midhurst
